It is already the lunar December, and after a year's hard work, many friends will prepare some New Year gifts for themselves, their loved ones, and their families. These gifts are usually called "New Year's goods." Nowadays, more and more young people tend to choose digital products as New Year's goods, especially mobile phones. Recently, I deeply experienced the OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and vivo X100 Pro, which are the mainstream flagship models of Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. Below, I will share my experiences with these phones and analyze their advantages and disadvantages so that everyone can choose according to their own needs.
PerformanceImaging Flagship with Stunning Portraits—vivo X100Pro
The vivo X100Pro is a model I just started using recently and is currently being detailed compared with the OnePlus 12 and Xiaomi 14Pro. MediaTek's performance this year has been impressive, especially with the strong presence of the third-generation Snapdragon 8, it still maintains its advantage and has become a dark horse in the market. The Dimensity 9300 platform's application effect in vivo X100Pro is quite significant, along with the release of OPPO FindX7, this platform is gradually winning a good reputation.
The Dimensity 9300 chip in vivo X100Pro achieves a performance score of 2.03 million+, on par with the OnePlus 12 and Xiaomi 14Pro. Although it is equipped with top-notch 16GB + 1TB memory and uses higher standard LPDDR5T memory, in actual performance, it could not significantly widen the gap in the scores, and even the temperature slightly rises.
In practical experience, especially when running medium to high-load games, compared to the OnePlus 12 and Xiaomi 14Pro equipped with Snapdragon 8 gen3, the back cover of vivo X100Pro does get noticeably warmer. I will further test the heating performance of these three phones in the same gaming environment.
In terms of screen, vivo X100Pro uses BOE's 1.5K curved screen, with excellent display quality, and apart from the resolution being slightly lower than the OnePlus 12, the other differences are not large. Although the parameters are not as good as the OnePlus 12, I personally believe that it will not be noticeably perceived in use.
The imaging system is the core advantage of vivo X100Pro, equipped with a one-inch IMX989 main camera, 64MP OV64B telephoto, and Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide-angle camera, it is particularly outstanding in portrait photography, with naturally beautiful portrait blurring and beautification effects leaving a deep impression. Although there is a noticeable processing process after taking the photo, the overall effect is still satisfying.
Due to the configuration of a low-power 1.5K resolution display screen, vivo X100Pro's endurance performance is also very remarkable, comparable to that of the OnePlus 12. However, in terms of charging, vivo's 120W fast charging scheme also results in relatively high heat generation, and the charging speed decreases under high temperatures, but there is a slight improvement compared to the Xiaomi 14Pro.
The vibration motor is a relatively obvious drawback of the vivo X100Pro. Compared to the OnePlus 12 and the Xiaomi 14Pro, the vibration feel is not clear, with a "buzz buzz buzz" sensation, resulting in a noticeable difference in experience.
The question arisesCan the impressive portrait mode of the vivo X100Pro make you overlook the 1.5K screen resolution and the inadequate motor performance? Can digital enthusiasts accept this compromise when faced with Dimensity 9300 flagship phones?Fourth, Conclusion Considering objective factors such as screen, performance, battery life, and price, its product strength advantage is very obvious at the 4K price point, and the slogan "OnePlus, one and all" has its merits. However, as a tool we use daily, a phone is also a personal consumer product. You might choose the slightly inferior screen quality of the Xiaomi 14Pro due to being a Xiaomi fan or preferring a flat screen design, or you might choose the vivo X100Pro for its stunning portrait capabilities while overlooking the motor vibration feel and lower Dimensity chip screen resolution. In conclusion, the choice is yours. Choose what you love, and it will be the best choice for you.
